Pledge Pillar Roundtables: Season 2

Though the 1 Year Anniversary is coming to an end, that doesn't mean the pledge is going to stop anytime soon.

By popular demand, the Pledge Pillar Roundtables are back throughout March to give those involved in the pledge, industry professionals and those interested in the games industry alike the opportunity to discuss suggestions, listen to advice and learn best practices from one another within a safe space about a range of equality, diversity and inclusion matters, including accessibility in the workplace.

Join us for chats, knowledge sharing and overall connecting with fellow individuals who want to learn and create impact on vital matters to make the games industry more inclusive and transparent.

Below highlights what will be discussed and explored for each roundtable session:

  • Thursday 4th March - Pillar 1 Roundtable: This session will outline more details about pledge pillar 1 and open up discussion to everyone in attendance on how to recruit more diversely, where do you start, what kind of support exists to put this in place and overall allow people in attendance to openly share tips and tricks.
  • Thursday 11th March - Pillar 2 Roundtable: This session will outline more details about pledge pillar 2 and open up discussion to everyone in attendance on how to foster a welcoming work culture, what considerations are needed to be put in place to allow people from any background to feel welcomed, what kind of support exists to put this in place, what can be done to inspire existing staff to be proactive engaged towards inclusion and overall allow people in attendance to openly share tips and tricks.
  • Thursday 18th March - Pillar 3 Roundtable: This session will outline more details about pledge pillar 3 and specifically be tailored towards game developers and publishers towards how they can include greater diversity and inclusion into their games and services – what to consider before/during/after production, what kind of support exists to put this in place and overall allow people in attendance to openly share tips and tricks.
  • Thursday 25th March - 'Special Edition' Roundtable: This session will focus around accessibility in the workplace and with staff from Games Jobs Direct as special guests to assist hosting and explain what they are doing to support their clients and candidates alike around accessibility in the workplace.
